How to Set Up Your Pinterest Account Part Four – Setting Up Your First Boards
This post is part of a series on how to set up your Pinterest account from the beginning. Specifically, it’s about video talks about how to set up Pinterest Boards. Although we’ve done this before, this includes all updates to {interest including the app.
This video assumes you have your Pinterest account set up already. If you need help getting started from the beginning – as in you don’t have a Pinterest or you don’t know what the social channel is about – then reviews the first three videos in this series. The links are at the bottom of this post. Businesses should switch to a free Pinterest business account. Information about that is contained in video number one.
The first thing to do, (after opening an account, is to create a few Pinterest boards. From your Pinterest account, in the upper right corner of the screen, select any blank board. Just tap/click on the plus icon (+). A new Pinterest board will pop up. Name that board after your keywords or phrases that you want your business or product to be found in searches for. This is a practice known as search engine optimization which is abbreviated as SEO. If you have a personal account and don’t care about search engine optimization or if any ever finds your account, then don’t worry about naming after keywords.
Most businesses want to be found on social media, their website, etc. do those Pinterest users should aim for keyword optimization. You can read more about SEO from my other website, http://www.metrony.com/
In this case, we are using the Pinterest account from my other website https://askcybersecurity.com/ which has a relatively new Pinterest account. The video that goes with the post shows how to create a board from desktop Pinterest. or how to save an image from a website, and then create a new board mid-Pin. Both ways are equally easy (or difficult) depending on how you look at it! It’s a matter of naming the board, then choosing what to save to it.
Be sure to set the board’s cover image. If you want to, you can choose to add collaborators to help save pins to the board.
